Born to RunAfter two albums that didn't sell, Bruce Springsteen went all in on 1975's Born to Run, chasing Phil Spector's Wall of Sound. The sessions with the E Street Band stretched over a year and a half, with six months spent on the title track alone. Springsteen imagined the record as one long summer day and night. Its songs follow restless characters itching to escape on the open highway. The cover shot of Bruce leaning on Clarence Clemons became one of rock's most imitated images. The album made him a star and was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry in 2003.
