Take It Like a Man Fiddle player and songwriter Amanda Shires cut her eighth solo record at Nashville's storied RCA Studio B in 2022, teaming with producer Lawrence Rothman to push her country-folk roots into more atmospheric, psych-tinged territory. Recorded during a rocky stretch in her marriage to fellow musician Jason Isbell, who guests on guitar alongside backing vocalists Maren Morris and Brittney Spencer, the album is unflinchingly candid about doubt, desire, and reinvention. Critics called it one of her boldest statements yet, praising the raw honesty beneath the polished, string-and-horn-laced arrangements. Received from Alliance Entertainment
